UEFA Champions League: Scotland Clubs off to Great Start

Posted by Mookie on October 16, 2007

If I can remember, there was a certain someone named Mike White from DH talking about Scottish clubs Rangers and Celtic, and saying that “It is going to be a rough year for Scotland.”. The UEFA Champions League campaign for Rangers and Celtic couldn’t be any better. Rangers (Group E with FC Barcelona, Stuttgart, Lyon), have won their first 2 games over French champions Lyon 3-0 and German Bundesliga champs Stuttgart 2-1. Next week will be the big test for Rangers as they face FC Barcelona in Glasgow.

Celtic are in Group D with defending UEFA Champions League winners AC Milan, Portugese powerhouse Benfica, and Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk, have won one and lost one. That win however was a 2-1 stunner against AC Milan, in which the fans were a little too happy (and Dida for Milan was a little too dramatic).

As things come to a close for the first set of group games for the respective clubs, they are on pace to advance to the round of 16.

  1. What’s happening in Scotland these days.
They’ve gone football mad, and winning some
    games

Take that, continental Europe! This is what you get for not paying a attention to Scotland.

I can’t believe it. Rangers has played three games against the French Champions, the German Champions, and arguably the most talented team in the world, and they’ve yet to lose. It’s amazing.
