Chelsea continue their impressive form under new boss Avram Grant, as they are back in the Carling Cup final after a 1-0 win over Everton at Goodison Park, and 3-1 on aggregate. It’s another win for Chelsea, and you would have to go back to mid-December at the Emirates, when rivals Arsenal defeated them 1-0.
Their opponents will be Tottenham Hotspur, who thrashed Arsenal 5-1 at White Hart Lane, and won 5-2 on aggregate. For Spurs, it’s a chance to get one bright spot in a season marred with disappointing play in the Premier League, a new boss in Juande Ramos, and the sudden drop off in goal scoring form.
Last season, another all-London final saw Chelsea beat Arsenal 2-1 in an absolute thriller in Cardiff, Wales.
